[pure:dyne] Pure:dyne on the server at work...

I spent Friday afternoon trying loads of different live distro's in an
attempt to rescue the server after swapping some disks around (forgot
which disk actually had the boot loader!)

I noticed that pure::dyne would boot up but only detected the 2 ide's
but did not detect the scsi. That's better than Knoppix which would not
boot (did not find the cdrom after the first stage)

Ubuntu successfully booted and found the drive as well! So i should have
tried that one first.

I doubt that supporting Dell Poweredge 2600 with MPT scsi back plane is
a high priority , and I don't know how it would be done but thought you
might like to know! I use these lines in the .config to make it work for
a kernel (but making a bootloader ... I don't know how to do it)
#
# Fusion MPT device support
#
CONFIG_FUSION=y
CONFIG_FUSION_SPI=y
# CONFIG_FUSION_FC is not set
# CONFIG_FUSION_SAS is not set
CONFIG_FUSION_MAX_SGE=128
# CONFIG_FUSION_CTL is not set
