hi,

try naming it live-rw

you can change the lable without umounting it with tune2fs

something like tune2fs -L "live-rw" /dev/sdb2

but of course make sure that you get the right /dev/

you can also use gparted to do this if you prefer GUI but it might be difficult 
to umount it if the system is using it.
