[puredyne] Slow Java performance when redrawing

Hi all,

Anyone else noticed that Java redraws really slowly on C&C?

For instance, open Processing and run the 'flocking' example in the Examples > Topics > Simulate menu. Painfully slow. This happens on other animated Java applets.

I know it's not my machine as I have a 64bit Ubuntu 9.10 (GNOME) installation on another partition that works perfectly.

Apologies if this has already been raised.
